I have lived in Hesperia for 24 years and have been at HUSD for 15 years, 8 at Hesperia High School, and 7 years at OHHS. I graduated High School in 1984 from South Pasadena High School, but lived in El Cajon (San Diego) up until my senior year. I attended Mt. SAC, Citrus College and VVC. I was an at home mom for 10 years, while volunteering at HUSD schools and doing Family Day Care for a few teachers in our district. I have 3 children that all attended HUSD schools from kindergarten thru graduation. My oldest son is a 2007 graduate from HHS, now attending CSUSB. My daughter is a 2010 graduate from HHS. She will be graduating from Cal Poly Pomona in Dec. 2014. My youngest son is a 2012 graduate from OHHS and is currently serving his 3rd year in the U. S. Army. I am proud of our students and to be part of our Bulldog family!

My amazing wife Jennifer and I have been residents of the High Desert since 1992, and have found it to be a great place to raise our three children. We have an exceptional team of educators assembled at Oak Hills High School and I am truly fortunate to be a part of this incredible group. The first five years for Oak Hills High School have been beyond phenomenal and I have enjoyed working with the students, staff, and parents. I am beyond excited to have the honor of leading Oak Hills High School into the future and will continue to help all students learn as well as prepare for college and career. GO BULLDOGS!!!

Kris Freehling, Counselor
I am extremely happy to be a part of the Oak Hills Counseling team as 10th grade counselor. I am originally from the great state of Michigan where I earned my Bachelor's Degree and teaching credential from Central Michigan University. I later earned my Master's Degree in Counseling from Azusa Pacific University. This is my 15th year working in the Hesperia Unified School District. I was an English teacher for 9 years at Sultana High School before joining the counseling teams at Hesperia High School and most recently Cedar Middle School. I love helping students understand they have so many opportunities to be successful in life and support them on their journey to becoming adults. From a personal standpoint, I've been married 12 years to my amazing wife, and we recently were blessed with the birth of our first child, Garrett, who was born in February 2014. In our free time, we love hiking, bicycling, going to the beach, traveling the U.S. and spending time with family and friends.

Renee Browning, Counselor
I am extremely excited to be a part of the Oak Hills High School Counseling Team. I have worked for HUSD for over eighteen years. I received my college degrees from Cal State Chico, Chapman and Azusa Pacific Universities. Teaching Family and Consumer Science classes, and Reading at Hesperia High gave me many opportunities to work with students of all grade levels. I have been married over twenty years and we have two boys currently attending California State Universities. Our daughter will graduate from high school in 2010 and plans to go into the medical field. Although I loved my years as a high school teacher, being a school counselor is my dream job. Helping students reach their academic and personal goals is extremely rewarding. Go Bulldogs!

Evelia Dang, Counselor
I love being part of the counseling team here at Oak Hills. I’ve been a part of the team since before our school even opened and it’s been a great experience. We’ve been able to establish some great traditions as bulldogs, and I really feel that we have succeeded in making Oak Hills feel like a home away from home for many of our students. Prior to being an HUSD staff member I worked for Cal State Fullerton as an Outreach Counselor. I received my PPS Credential and M.S. Degree from the University of LaVerne, and earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from U.C. Riverside. My goal as a counselor is to teach my students about all the wonderful opportunities they have before them. I want them to know they can be successful if they just make a plan and set some goals. I truly enjoy helping students develop a plan of how they can one day reach their dreams.

Vicki Ferren, Plant Supervisor
